Liberia Foundations

Our history in Liberia goes back to 1992 when Nick Crowder started, while launching another charity in Reading, UK, to assist friend Rev. Phil Cheale to source and send, via container, practical tools, vocational equipment and life saving foods and medicines to Liberia which was 3 years into the first civil war that ravaged the country.

Phil and his family lived and worked in Liberia and in neighbouring Sierra Leone and has a unique understanding and insight into the Liberian culture and mindset from 30 years of engagment. Many very special relationships with the country’s indigenous leaders have been forged in Government, commerce, community and church.

Building Indigenous Support Networks

One Life International will continue to help the Liberian projects and people realise sustainability based on indigenous ownership and management.

With over 3,500 graduates from the vocational training institute and 1,000 Pastors across the country, there is the potential to impact and help support the development of a 1/3rd of the Liberian population.
