Orphanages

The number of orphanages in Liberia has increased more than ten-fold since the eruption of civil war in 1989.

Children, Monrovia. April 2008Armed conflict, HIV/AIDS and other diseases have orphaned an estimated 230,000 children.

Practical support is key to the day to day maintenance of these programmes.

The objective is to see these children and homes supported and, where possible, reunited with their families, or given access to education and a future of self–sustainability and not dependence.

The need in this area is vast. With our Liberian partners we are looking to do so much more in the area of child support, reconciliation and education.

Can you help make these projects reality through Giving funding support?
